Not sure what insurance you have but it should cover a mastectomy bra with drain pouches or you can safety pin drains to your clothing. I was able to wear my usual clothing after mastectomy but button down or zipper front shirts are good and think of wearing comfortable clothing like sweats or yoga pants. No question is ever trivial. Do you have a breast cancer nurse navigator? If not contact your hospital and ask for one. They can help you with these types of things and tell you what your insurance will pay for. You should be able to get mastectomy bras and prosthetics covered by insurance as well.

You can use a lanyard around your neck to hold the drains, just pin them in. Or wear something with pockets in front to hold the drains. The lanyard works well to take a shower also. I wore a house dress or duster with pockets to hold mine.💗💗💗

My insurance covered 2 camisoles with pockets. I had 3 drains and 2 pain balls. I wore zippered sweatshirts (winter) and pjs. Your right it ought to be a crime what they charge for things that people need because of cancer.

Get button down down or zipper tops work well. Chap stick, my lips were very chapped after my surgery. I attached my drains to my clothes or PJ they had clips on them or you can pin them. Journal to write down your thoughts .

I was very nervous before my surgery and my dr gave me a script for Valium which I didn't think I'd ever use but it relaxed me.....best of luck to you !!
