I took Wellbutrin for 10 years but had to stop because it doesn't play well with Tomoxifen. I'm trying to find something to replace it but need something that is more of a stimulant. I've tried Effexor and Buspirone and both of them made me tired and increased my appetite. Anyone have any ideas? I've already gained 15 pounds, can't handle anymore.
There are only a few drugs of that type that do not affect tamoxifin's efficacy. Effexor was the only one offered to me by my Onc. - and it made me very sick, so I am just changing lifestyle/diet to avoid depression/anxiety. One list I saw (link below) said Effexor was the only one with no interaction with Tam. but that Celexa and Lexapro (which I think are more stimulative) have a "slight risk" of interaction. Your Oncologist would be the best source to help you decide which is best option for you.

Wellbutrin for depression? You would need the advice of a physician for what will work along side the Tamoxifen. There are many many anti-depressants, hopefully they will find one that works for you! {hugs}.
Than you ladies for the info, I'm going to talk to my onc and see if we can figure something out.
