Is Anyone Using Estradiol Cream For Vaginal Dryness ? How High Are The Risks ?
My gynecologist prescribed topical estradiol cream for my vaginal dryness and it worked well. 3 weeks after using the cream, I was diagnosed with BC. My gynecologist said I should stop it until I got my treatment plan worked out. When I asked my surgical oncologist about continuing on it she did not seem too concerned. What are your thoughts?
My doctor said the risk is very low because not that much is absorbed into the body. She did suggest I not "mess with it" right now, but that was just to be on the safe side. Maybe later.
The risks must be very low because my Oncologist was fine with putting me on it and I am even BRCA2 positive. It has been very helpful.
I use estradiol for dryness after I was treated for my BC. The hormone blocker, Letrozole made me extremely dry. My oncologist was okay with it because it’s topical and really only absorbs into the tissue on that area. Check with your Dr.
I felt that way too. My Gyn gave me a handout on how to increase libido. I don't think reading a sexy novel was going to stop the pain and bleeding. My palliative care NP suggested using a lubricant suppository every day and the oncologist/gynecologist suggested estrogen cream 3 times a week. I'm not a cougar, but I can be intimate without crying in pain.
i am so scare to try new meds but I will talk to my oncologist. My hubby might have to find a girlfriend lol because I am out of commision,
