@A MyBCTeam Member. I was surprised at the same thing, no charge for my anastrozole, either. The only thing I could come up was radiation maxed me out for what I had to spend in one year, so it was no charge for the last half. I agree. It was a nice treat. Good luck with the tamoxifen. I do my anastrozole in the morning because insomnia can be a side effect. I have seen people take it morning, midday, or night. If you need to change times of day to see if it helps.
I am doing anastrozole (Arimidex) and had been out of radiation for a month. It didn't seem to be a big issue for the doctors that it had to be started in a huge hurry.
@A MyBCTeam Member. I didn't even have a follow up with the clinical oncologist scheduled to even discuss it until I had been out of radiation for almost a month. I have seen ladies say they took it during radiation. I don't believe I would want to have started it any sooner than I did.
Ok - thanks again for the info! I went about an hour ago to pick up the Tamoxifen. I will start it tomorrow since tomorrow marks my 3rd week of last radiation treatment. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that it cost me nothing! I was expecting it to set me back $25 - just like everything else! Those creams I used during radiation were starting to add up! $23/tube for the Radiaplex! :(
Thank you Nora! I was worried b/c I asked a co-worker at my school who went through
the same thing (a lumpectomy) and she said she started Arimidex the next day! I had a bad virus that was going around and just couldn't shake it. :(. I will probably start on it tomorrow. Thanks again!
