I recently had my ovaries removed since I was ER+/PR+ and I was taken off of tamoxifen. Should I ask my onc about Femara? He didn't mention me needing anything else. I was put on Paxil since it has some off market effects on menopausal symptoms.

A year after my mastectomy, I decided to have total hysterectomy and bilateral oopherectomy. My anti-hormonal medication was switched from Tamoxifen to Femara.

Femara is for post menopausal women or surgical menopausal.

Even fat produces estrogen. I had a hysterectomy too and they switched from tamoxifen to femara as well.

why the need for anti-hormonal pill if you have it all taken out?
