I've been reading about intergrative oncology and was wondering if anyone has experienced this type of care. This approach to treatment sounds wonderful but I'm also a bit skeptical of actual results.
I did not formally go to an Integrative Oncologist but instead formed my own integrative team. I was Stage IV lobular/ductal cancer. I did conventional treatments which I considered intervention. I also used an OMD and many other complimentary therapies. Prior to my diagnosis I never took drugs and did not even have an aspirin in my house. I used homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki and many other modalities. I felt using all that was available to me gives me the best possible outcome. I changed oncologist's after I finished treatment and found one who is much more open minded.

I see a functional/integrative MD (along with a regular oncologist) who gave me a protocol of nutrition and supplements through out chemo and radiation and I did very well. It is cutting edge treatment and will be the future of cancer care. Much more personal and individualized. check out knockout by suzanne somers.
