I have asked the question before if anyone had not finished the 5 year protocol taking Atimidex because of side affects getting to be very difficult to tolerate. But I also wanted to ask if anyone was diagnosed with neuropathy while on this drug? I know it happens with chemo but I did not have chemo, I had two surgeries for lumpectomy and lymph nodes, followed by 33 days of radiation and then hormone therapy for 5 years. I have been on Arimidex for 4 years and 2 months and now suffer from a lot… read more

I had very bad neuropathy when I was taking Arimidex. I tried some homeopathic remedies and got some relief. But finally decided to stop taking the Arimidex a few weeks ago and am happy to report that the neuropathy is gone!

I have been on Arimidex for 16 months now. I don't understand why the long time frames. Personally, I have a tendancy to build a resistance to many others like antibiotics, pain relivers and blood pressure meds. I would think in 5-10 yrs they'll come up with some other "miracle" drug that everyone will be on.

You have given me some hope. I have gone off Arimidex as of today after taking it for 4 years and 2 months, couldn't do it anymore. My Dr. Said he could add another drug that would help with some of the side affects of the Arimidex but I don't understand the reasoning behind taking another drug with other side affects to cover up this drug's side affects that are affecting my body badly, especially after I have taken it this long. May I ask how long you took the Arimidex before stopping? I can only hope and pray stopping will help my neuropathy too. My Dr. Also told me it wasn't a side affect.
