My Dr has me using this cream~gel on my incisions. Claims it will reduce the red rope look of the incisions. Was wondering if anyone out there had any luck w this product or a similar one.
I was given the cream and have tried silicon strips. And nothing worked. My scars are still the same. Sorry no good news on that.
I have been using Mederma for 3 months and would say that my scars look the same :-(
I recently ordered the silicone scar strips and will try those for the recommended 12 weeks. I have keloid scars and would love to at least lighten them even if they won't completely flatten.
My surgeon had told me within a week to always massage the incision and to use petroleum jelly or palmers lotion to keep it moist and soft - not to let them harden.
I switched to Mederma in November (last surgery was in Sept.) and will now see how the silicone strips woe out.
Thank you Sanne. I too have been using it for about a month now and I see no difference. I guess I was asking in case at a certain point it magically starts working better. I was thinking about going straight to laser. Some of my scaring is flat and some is thick and ropish. It does still feel strange to rub daily because I am still numb. I love the fact that I can post that and people know what I'm talking about.
