Can Tamoxifen induce insomnia? I don't have hot flashes. I don't have night sweats. But I am having serious insomnia since beginning [[treatment:Tamoxifen:540f562a[[phone:8608758280000445]] 2.5:]] weeks ago. I'm waking every half hour or hour. I'm tossing and turning a lot...which you know is hard when you have basically one position you can lie in (on your back). I've tried taking melatonin which is not helping unfortunately.

I have been on Tamoxifen for almost 2 years and suffer from insomnia, leg cramps, periods of depression like weepiness, hot and cold flashes and weight troubles to some extent and leg pain. I am trying to hang in there to the five year mark but it is so hard some days. I drink tonic water for leg cramps, take Lunesta for a sleep aid (much better than Ambian) and sleep with cold AC and 2 fans to make hot flashes tolerable. I so hope this is all worth it. When we hit the 5 year mark do all these problems go back to normal???

My doc prescribed me trazadone as needed. I usually sleep pretty good without it, but when I need deep sleep I take one at about 9pm. I have to be up at 4:30am for work. It works for me.

I was taken off arimadex (spelling) and put on tamoxifen which is a lot better on my joints, my muscles and my hair loss is less.
I'm just thankful to be alive and living a fulfilling life. Aches and pains but that's part of the privilege of growing old.
Wishing all you ladies well...

I struggle with insomnia, leg cramps, joint pain, brain fog, night sweats, headaches, depression and body jitters. My Doctor upped my Xanax to see if that will help with the insomnia and jitters. I am not going to stop taking Tamoxifen due to my ATM Gene Mutation and plan on doing what ever works to get rid of these side effects. I have 9 1/2 years left before I stop taking Tamoxifen. Good luck ladies and if and when you find something out there that will take away any of these side effects please let me know.
