I had a radical hysterectomy via divinci method AND bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction done November 8, 2013 ... I could not even tell I had the hysterectomy ... no pain ... like Maxine said, small incisions ... doing remarkably well!

I did. Recovery is less. I couldn't stand on my own for the first 24 hours because of pain. The next day I was fine.

I had a Robotic (DiVinci) total hysterectomy in August. One of the easiest surgeries todate. Not much pain, and the recovery was very fast! I have 5 small incisions in my belly, and everything was removed vaginally. I would recommend it highly as to the old-fashion surgical method.

Mine was not done with the divinci method but it was done laparoscopic. Very small incisions, three on my stomache and two in the pelvic area. Then everything was taken out through the vagianal area. Not bad at all, went back to work at four weeks. Minimal discomfort. But back to the davince, my son worked with it when he was going to medical school. He said it is amazing the only thing he would do if he was a woman having that type of surgery is make sure and check with the doctor who is using it on where he was trained and how long he has been doing this form of surgery. They may get offended but he said there are some out there that do not have enough time or training on this machine and could cause some damage. Funny after he told me that there was a special on 20/20 or 60 minutes do not remember which that was just about that thing. It never hurts to ask questions and we have the right to know.

I had bi-lateral mastectomy, and full hysterectomy, therefore I will not need to have mammo's anymore, just a yearly pap with my gynecologist. i believe Sloan Kettering does a sonogram or MRI every so often to check me. but that is it. of course we all have it in the backs of our minds, but have to really shove it wayyy back! otherwise we would not be able to go about our daily activities.
