I'm large breasted but the left one is the one with dcis and had been poked squished and then surgery so it's still hurting swollen probably and already was larger . But I just can't find the right bra ! I found some that just came in the mail that are Very supportive but I think TOO TIGHT for healing under it - the other ones I bought are too loose. Do I really have to spend all my waking hours thinking about bras ?? :-/ help what do you recommend ??

I have tried to find bras that are comfortable too. Within 3 or 4 months after reconstruction I finally went to Lululemon and tried on their Ta-Ta tamer. You have to buy one a size larger around than normal but the cup is soft, there are adjustable wide straps and three hooks in the back. It is now 6 months later and it is still the only thing that is comfortable for me and it helps cover any imperfections.

Hi Cathy, I understand the problem. My lumpectomy was on my right side which was already smaller. I've had problems just getting things to look right and feel okay. I found that medicare covers a couple of bras every year and a prosthesis every two years. They helped fit me. It still isn't perfect, but it works out pretty good for me. I'm older than you, so you'd have to check with your insurance if it would cover something like that, or maybe the ACS would help if it was too costly. It seems you should be able to get some help somewhere with this. What I was trying to emphasize though is the fact that the medical supply companies (in my area anyway) have help for fitting you with a post lumpectomy/mastectomy bra and prosthesis which makes life a whole lot easier. I hope this helps.

I just bought a couple of those sport bras with no cup. Very comfy.
