I'm trying to find information on FMLA and short term disability. My employer is NO help, and is telling me I will have to pay for my own health insurance once I am on disability. Any suggestions as to who to talk to or where I can find the right information?

Human Resources should be able to explain it all to you. I was on STD and my health payments were taken out of my check.
When I was terminated (because of my illness and couldn't medically return to work), I pay for my own health insurance ($85.85/month), and it also includes dental and my life insurance policy I have with my employer.
STD I had 2 wait 4 months for my first actual payment.
I'm on Social Security and get a third party disability payment monthly from my job.

I work for the Army and was relieved to find out that my employer would continue to pay their part (80%) and I just had to pay my portion. I paid some of it ahead of time and the rest is ($200.00) will be taken out of my future paychecks. I agreed to $50 a pay period.

Most likely you do. Either up front or retroactively when you return to work.
