I started using a Crystal Stick that is made of minerals and approved by the American Cancer Society. It kills the bacteria that create odor. It does not do anything for wetness and perspiration. Sometimes I apply a plant based stick deodorant on again in the afternoon. I agree with @A MyBCTeam Member in that I do absolutely everything I can to keep my body away from toxins.
*Side note-- I have a friend who works in environmental research and she recommended that I only drink water from, 'Crystal Geyser' the company uses mountain spring water that can not be tainted with pollutants. She told me that even well water that is near farming communities is not healthy. (My friend also had breast cancer!)

I used Dove for sensitive skin. I have also used a stick from store I buy my lymphedemia sleeves and other supplies. I use all Dove products for bath and shampoo also and just trust this brand.

As someone stated above, I think we have to use what's best for "you." Each of us has a unique body chemistry and what works with for me or someone else may or may not work for you. Its bad enough that we get treatment based on a group of other women our age, ethnic group, type of breast cancer, etc., so I believe when we have a choice we should make the choice based on what suits our personal needs.

Thanks to all of you who remembered the "fable" about deodorants causing cancer. Since it's not factual, it never crossed my mind.

I had some of the same issues as MamaH when I tried Tom's Regular, but I just got their long lasting version and it's worked really well! I don't smell myself anymore :)

And MamaH is correct, there is no scientific link between deoderant and cancer at this time. That being said, I personally choose to play it safe in terms of what I put on my body because skin is the largest organ we have. It is one of those things that may/may not be real (in terms of reducing risk), but psychologically it makes me feel like I'm doing one more thing to fight recurrance.

there is no issue with using a regular deodorant except if you are having radiation. There is no scientific correlation between deodorant & cancer despite what the "naturoptahs' like to spread around. So what ever deodorant works best for you is best :) IF you are having radiation then it is best to either be stinky ( just wash more its not that bad or to use one of the ones that does not have the aluminum in it. BUT DONT WORRY ABOUT DEODORANT IN GENERAL... like sun screen it's NOT something that causes cancer. re: bottled water... yeah just because it syas crystal springs doesn't mean it's not polluted... doesn't even mean it's from a spring. Bottled water is one of the biggest scams on the planet. They are also destroying a lot of natural sources for water by draining them to sell it to people, not to mention the plastics and environmental foot print of actually making and moving all the plastic/water around from one source that has fresh celan drinking water to another place that has fresh clean drinking water.
