I did because my gyno-onc said it was less risky, quicker, blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately noone mentioned to me until afterwards that there has been a higher risk of infection linked to it. I went home on a Friday and was back in the hospital on a Monday with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. I was in isolation until they ruled out C-diff and then they had to put me on morphine for days because of the stomach pains which somehow the infection created an abscess and then obstructed my small intestine. I would highly recommend asking about infection rates associated with the surgery now. Mine was in 2009. Good luck!!

I had a vag hyst with robot and removed both ovaries. It has been 9 days and u would not know it, I was driving on sat after my surg Thursday .infection risk is always going to b a possibility. If your surg and or staff are all using proper procedures it shouldn't b any more risk of infection hope this helps.
My only complaint was bloating. I started colace twice a day after Surg and took milk o mag a couple days later and was fine

I just had a complete hysterectomy in Dec 2012 using the Davinci method. It was great! Recovery little and I had no side effects or problems. Had surgery on a Tuesday and was out Christmas shopping on Friday.

@A MyBCTeam Member - My surgery went well. I had a problem with my bladder and had to have a foley cath for 2 days but other than soreness, I feel better everyday. Thanks again for sharing your story.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I will definetly ask my gyno during pre-op( my surgery is tomorrow) a lot more questions. I do have a problem with some antibiotics but I do well with surgeries. You bet, I will be checking by temp and listening to by body thanks to you. I am only having by ovaries and tubes removed so maybe there's less risk? I don't want to be sent home too quickly only to go back in a few days, sicker than before. Thanks again for the info!
