Hello. I have had Post Breast Therapy Pain Syndrome for 8 years. I started a small support group for PBTPS on FB. All PBTPS sufferers are welcome to join. http://www.facebook.com/groups/265320350156856/

Oh yeah, I see a Pain Dr. for all my aches and pains. I never had any problems before I was DX.

My side effects have lasted 16 months and show no sign of getting better. If nerve was cut symptoms will never go away. That is called Post mastectomy Syndrome. Has anyone had this diagnosed?

My surgeon says due to the intercostal bracaiel nerve being damaged which distributes feeling to the area of the back of the arm and across the upper chest area. And yes it's from having axillary lymph nodes removed. Some times the nerve gets cut, but my surgeon thought he kept mine clear. I'm looking for hope that if only damaged, the nerve will heal or regenerate and this awful burning and numb tingling will go away in time.

I only know what I feel. Been over a year since my double mastectomy. My symptoms include, under skin itching, stabbing pain and sometimes numbness if I have lifted something too heavy.
