The past few weeks I have been having foot and leg cramps. I have been on Tamoxifen for over a year now and I have just started with the cramping. I can't stretch my legs without getting a "charlie horse". My Dr. says to take a hot bath. Easy for him to say I don't have a bath tub. I only have a shower stall. I don't know what to do for them. If anyone has any ideas please tell me. Can use all the helpful hints I can get. Thank you

The 8-1/2 years I was on Tamoxifen I was plagued with leg cramps also. I finally took quinine which relieved all of them. Then they took it off the market. Ridiculous! You can get it through a Canadian pharmacy. It works much better than any leg cramp pills on the market. A Canadian pharmacy I used is called Dr. Solve. You can look it up on the net.

I get leg and foot cramps due to neuropathy caused by Cistplatin. Best thing to do is take a hot cloth and put it on your leg or foot when it cramps.

I also am having leg cramps. I have heard about putting a smelly bar of soap in bed with you. I have tried it, and it does seem to help some, but not completely. The leg cramps are not as severe with the soap in the bed. I don't understand how or why it works, but I was surprised it helped at all.
I have also tried drinking tonic water (quinine). This also seems to help some, but I really don't like the taste of it. I may try to find the canadian product that @A MyBCTeam Member suggested.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. My Dr. has put me on some muscle relaxers and they seem to be doing the trick for now. I have been able to soak my feet in hot water and that also seems to be helping. When I do have them they are very painful.

If hot water soaks are not an option I have found that Norce 10mg at night help a great deal. You Dr. should also be able to get you somemore suggestions and you have the right as a patient to get ALL of your questions answered completely and effectively by your doctor. If he is unable to do this get a new doctor or at the very least get a second opinion.
