Should I take an aromatase inhibitor?

Should I take an aromatase inhibitor?

Hi
I’m 54 years old, diagnosed by mammogram in February. Had a lumpectomy followed by radiation.
Er pr positive
Hers2 negative
Stage 1 invasive ductal
All margins and nodes clean
Oncotype score of 2

Is there anyone out there who has chosen not to take aromatase inhibitors??

Thanks
Trish

Still Can't Decide - Lumpectomy vs. Mastectomy

Still Can't Decide - Lumpectomy vs. Mastectomy

Some of the discussions here date back a couple of years, so I thought I'd pose the question again. My surgery is 2/15. I have a 5-6 cm tumor in my right breast. I'm being told that the BS is 'comfortable doing either' surgery. The PS says I'm a 'perfect candidate for either'. He said I'd have great results either way. I already know I don't want a bilateral mastectomy. I go back and forth on the mastectomy or lumpectomy on the right. I am going to do reconstruction as… read more

Does anyone have answers for post mastectomy pain syndrome??

Does anyone have answers for post mastectomy pain syndrome??

I had partial mastectomy and lymph node dissection on the right side and bilateral breast reductions a year ago with radiation afterwards. I still have severe pain in the right breast every day. I'm having bilateral mastectomies in the next couple of weeks, I'm hoping some of the pain resolves. Has anyone tried accupuncture or other modalities that helped??

Should your oncologist order a blood test at least every 6 months?

Should your oncologist order a blood test at least every 6 months?

I am 2 1/2 years out from finishing my chemo/radiation treatments. I have seen my oncologist every 3-6 months since. He has only ordered blood work once or twice since I finished treatment. I think it is odd that he is not checking it more often. I was a diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer I had a 5cm tumor and 6 out of 22 lumph nodes tested positive also. I had a double mastectomy. I just find this strange.. Does anyone else??

What can I expect?

What can I expect?

In 30 days I'm having a complete hysterectomy and wont be taking hormone replacements. I'm 30 what are things going to be like. Also has anyone else struggled with being sick for a long time. I have been sick with a sore throat, stuffy/running nose. I break out in sweat with sweat just running down my face. I turn red everywhere and usually have to shower. My cycles are weird too. I dont bleed like normal or at all but do have discharge. Add on top of that the extreme fatigue and I'm at my wits… read more

Painful breasts two years after radiation? Does anyone else have that?

Painful breasts two years after radiation? Does anyone else have that?

Over two years after my breast is hurting more. My last mammogram was excruciating and physical exams by doctors are painful. All of the areas where I received radiation are very sensitive to touch, my neck, arm pit, and even my back on that side. Does this ever go away?? It seems like radiation is the gift that keeps on giving.

Fatigue levels

Fatigue levels

I finished chemo at the end of January and radiation at the end of March. I was doing really well with my fatigue- it was getting better over time. For the last couple of days however I have been so tired. I have gone to bed at 8 p.m. Is this normal to have relapses with fatigue levels?
