Do you carry on with physio exercises advised after surgery?

A MyBCTeam Member said:

@A MyBCTeam Member: sure - until/unless it gets too sore. I was going to physio until I started getting really crispy - then I didn't want anyone touching me. I still did very gentle stretches at home… read more

Anyone Taken A Letrozole Break?

Anyone Taken A Letrozole Break?

I’m 2 years in and am miserable with arthritis taking over my body. Taking a break to see what happens. Very mild arthritis before. They say exercise. Well I can hardly more, and exercise makes it unbearable. I have tried all the supplements..no change. Anyone else taken a break?

I'm Scheduling Breast Reconstruction With Latissimus Dorsi Flap, A Year Post Radiation.

l play golf & tennis. I'd like to hear experiences on regaining range of motion after surgery & about this surgery in general, plus recovery and outcomes. I had bilateral mastectomy, then 17 lymph nodes removed, followed by chemo, then radiation on left side. Thanks.

What Do You Do For Chest Muscle Issues After A Bilateral Mastectomy & Reconstruction?

What Do You Do For Chest Muscle Issues After A Bilateral Mastectomy & Reconstruction?

I had a bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction in December of 2016 and am still having issues with pushing, pulling, using an electric can opener and just some of the simplest things. Any suggestions?

They keep telling me it is the nerve ending causing the pain. They don't even investigate to see if it is something different.

Has Anyone Experience Lymphodema In Your Core (under Breast Area)?

Has Anyone Experience Lymphodema In Your Core (under Breast Area)?

I saw my ps who says a sore spot under my right expander is possibly lymphodema and suggests massage. This is the only spot I currently have issues with. I had bilateral mastectomy with sentinel node biopsy of 3 nodes on the opposite side. Should I be overly worried? My sister suffers from lymphodema in her arm and this has been a huge worry for me. Is there anything I could/should be doing as a prevention?

I used to work in physio before. It is good that your PT said that it COULD be lymphoedema. It means that if you massage and exercice, you could prevent it from getting worse. At this point, I would… read more

Six Weeks Post Op - Anyone Not Driving?

Six Weeks Post Op - Anyone Not Driving?

Hi All -

I'm three weeks post op from double mastectomy with tissue expanders and lat flap on left side. While it's been a rough three weeks, it is getting better. The big thing right now is driving (well except the pain that I'm just living with......). I'm supposed to return to work in three weeks. I don't feel even close to being able to drive. I know a lot can happen in three weeks - I'm curious if anyone has been through this and not been driving by six weeks.

Thanks!

Jennie

Did Anyone Else Question Whether Reconstruction Was Worth The Pain Of Recovery?

Did Anyone Else Question Whether Reconstruction Was Worth The Pain Of Recovery?

I'm really struggling right now having gone through lumpectomy and mastectomy and still not being able to go back up work yet ( I'm a house cleaner, self employed) I'm going to physio twice a week to try to get my range of motion back but at this point any real lifting or push/pull results in pain and irritation. It's been 5 weeks since my surgery. Everything I've read leads me to believe that reconstruction surgery. Either the expander and implant or the diep is worse than what I'm… read more
