Great question! Medline Remedy is a solid choice — your care team knows best. Many people going through radiation have found certain products especially soothing for their skin.

Here are some commonly recommended moisturizers and creams:

- Aquaphor — very popular for keeping skin barrier protected
- CeraVe — gentle and fragrance-free
- Eucerin — widely recommended for sensitive, dry skin
- Aveeno — another gentle, fragrance-free option
- Aloe vera — some find this naturally soothing
- Calendula lotion — one MyBCTeam member found it really helpful during treatment For soaps and shower gels, the key is to look for mild, unscented options. Note that "fragrance-free" is actually better than "unscented" — unscented products can still contain masking fragrances.

A few tips when washing:

- Use warm (not hot or cold) water
- Wash gently with your hands, not a loofah
- Pat dry — never rub
- Avoid letting the shower stream hit the treated area directly

Always check with your care team before switching products, as they may have specific recommendations for your skin.

Honestly,
I just used my coco butter and it worked really well for me. I still have some darkness remaining. My radiation treatment was in 2023, and I still have some other side effects that remain from both the chemo and radiation.

I still take things one day at a time, not knowing what may or may not come next.

I would take a fresh cut of aloe Vera to each radiation treatment and slather all over the area when getting dressed. I’d put more aloe Vera each night after showering. My skin remained healthy the whole 36 sessions…just really weird tan lines
