Hi Lorrie, I was just thinking of you last night! I had read an article this week about a genetic difference that has shown up in the DNA of women of Native American ancestry with bc, that differs from white women. Part of the issue in researching this is the limited number of patients involved in the studies, I think it was from Notre Dame, gonna check to see if I can find it- I do not recall it mentioning receptor status, so I will try to find.

I am so sorry to hear that HER2 has decided to circle back, especially since you already have enough health challenges going on. Were you able to make progress on getting another support/guide dog?

Keeping you in prayers! Please keep in touch! Hugs!

Hello @A MyBCTeam Member ...... I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with a recurrence to your lymph nodes. I don't know much about being HER2 positive, but I read your profile and it mentions you had a lumpectomy. Just a thought since you've been unable to take a couple of different drugs so far. Would it be possible to treat your recurrence with a mastectomy followed by radiation and maybe some kind of chemo? I agree with the AI response that a 2nd opinion would be worthwhile, especially if your current doctor is trying to put you back on a drug that was deemed hazardous for you to take. The AI also mentioned some other drugs that would be worth researching and then asking about at your second opinion appointment or your current doctor if you can't coordinate a 2nd opinion.

The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org does offer a rides program if you live within 20 miles I believe of where you get your treatments They also offer other types of assistance. When I was getting radiation last year for a recurrence they covered cost for 12 days at a hotel near my hospital.

Wishing you all the best and hoping you can find a treatment and/or meds that your body can tolerate ❤️
