I find it takes 1 to 3 months for my skin to heal and normalize depending on how many and how intense the sessions are.and the type of radiation machine that is used. Sometimes your skin will continue to get worse for up to 6 weeks after radiation has been completed. Time and lots of lotion are what takes to heal.

Hi! So sorry you are sore. It took about 3 months for my skin after radiation. My breast is still sore and it’s 6 months post lumpectomy.
I had 30 rounds, last 4 were a boost on the neck area. Chest and armpit were very red and very warm. Neck area was painful. Trying to take off old bandages to change them and reapply ointment to the burnt area was hard. Keep ahead of it. I was surprised how fast it healed within a week after the last radiation. It will heal and get better. Hang in there.
