- When the expander isn't fully filled yet, it can shift or fold slightly, causing unusual feelings and sounds
- Nerves healing after surgery can also make you more sensitive to new sensations
As one MyBCTeam member put it: "If you haven't completed your fills, there's going to be some weird sounds and sensations." Since the appointment is tomorrow anyway, it's a perfect opportunity to mention it. Just describe exactly what's been noticed — the sound, when it started, and any other changes. That way the doctor can confirm everything is on track before the first fill.
In the meantime, watch for anything more concerning like fever, swelling, skin discoloration, or pain, and seek care right away if any of those appear.
