I had a lipid panel done on Monday and my cholesterol is 2 points above normal. I'm a big girl but I have NEVER had high cholesterol. My GP wants to put me on medication. I said "NO" I will fix it myself.

Yes, aromatase inhibitors like anastrozole have been linked to higher cholesterol levels. Since anastrozole significantly lowers estrogen, and estrogen plays a role in keeping cholesterol in check, this connection makes sense.

Being only 2 points above normal is actually pretty manageable β€” so your instinct to tackle it naturally first is understandable! Here are some lifestyle steps that may help:

- Eat heart-healthy foods β€” think more fiber, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
- Limit saturated fats β€” found in red meat and full-fat dairy
- Cut back on alcohol β€” it adds empty calories and can affect cholesterol
- Stay active β€” even moderate exercise can make a real difference
- Maintain a healthy weight β€” even small reductions can improve cholesterol levels That said, it's really important to keep your GP in the loop on any changes you make and get your levels rechecked after a few months. If lifestyle changes aren't moving the needle, having an open conversation with your doctor about all options is worth it β€” you're in this together!
