@A MyBCTeam Member My mastectomy was in March. I also came home the next day. They got all the cancer, so I haven’t needed radiation THANK GOD 🙌
@A MyBCTeam Member I didn’t realize renting a recliner was a thing! No room where I live so my couch with lots of pillows is my plan. Thanks for sharing!
@A MyBCTeam Member Ask what your center will provide, ours provided 2 mesh aprons for holding drains- the idea was one under clothes, and one in the shower! They also provided a small U-shaped pillow to go under the arm, it helps reduce the pressure/friction of your arm against the incision where the lymph nodes were removed (which I actually found more uncomfortable that the mastectomy, surprisingly!)
Agree with the answer above but make sure your tops have pockets so you have somewhere to put your drains. I wore a lot of zip up hooded sweatshirts with pockets.
@A MyBCTeam Member How are you? My surgery was 8/25. Came home the next day and I’m doing well. Follow up at Moffitt on the 23rd.
