Once diagnosed did anyone feel the need to have their home professionally cleaned due to the immune system’s changing? Trying to understand

I’m DCIS PR/ER+ DCIS invasive grade 2, single with pets. We keep a clean home no heavy traffic but nervous about things that would further weaken our immune system or attack it and it’s something common we overlook. (Spores in vents, perfumes etc)

We have a small square one, Kevolt, that is dresser top in the bedroom and a big one in the living room that is WINIX.

Really good for pollen and dust and allergies and germs

With the WINIX, the light on top shows red when there is an air problem. Perhaps air quality.

@A MyBCTeam Member thank you because to be honest I would not have even thought about it. I did end up buying the automatic litter box for surgery. That way I’m only grabbing the bag once full. See this is why I need my MyBTC new family. You saved me some good health days🌻🌻

- Check and replace HVAC filters regularly — HEPA filters can help trap spores and allergens
- Consider an air purifier for frequently used rooms
- Have vents inspected/cleaned if they haven't been recently

Cleaning Products & Fragrances
- Switch to fragrance-free, gentle cleaning products
- Avoid harsh chemical sprays that can irritate sensitive skin and airways
- Unscented laundry detergents are a good swap too

Pets
- Regular pet grooming helps reduce dander and outdoor contaminants they bring inside
- Wash pet bedding frequently

General Tips
- Avoid products containing strong hormones or endocrine-disrupting chemicals like triclosan
- Use gloves when cleaning to protect your skin Since you're ER/PR+ grade 2, it's especially worth discussing any concerns about hormone-disrupting chemicals with your oncology team, as some household products can interfere with hormone levels.
