Great to discuss with your doctor. This could be a rash. An exam and possibly imaging will give the best answers.
Wishing you well!

First, it's really important to contact your oncology team right away about the return of the pink rash and warmth. These are classic symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer (IBC), and any changes β especially a return of symptoms β need to be evaluated promptly by your doctor.

First, it's really important to contact your oncology team right away about the return of the pink rash and warmth. These are classic symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer (IBC), and any changes β especially a return of symptoms β need to be evaluated promptly by your doctor.
Only your medical team can truly assess whether chemo is working. They typically monitor progress through:
- Physical exams to check for skin changes like redness, warmth, or swelling
- Imaging tests such as ultrasounds or MRIs
- Biopsy results to check cancer cell activity
The return of rash and warmth *could* mean a few things, and it's important not to panic just yet:
- It may be a skin reaction to the chemo itself rather than disease progression
- It could signal that the cancer is responding differently to treatment
- Your oncologist may need to adjust your treatment plan Please don't wait until your 6th treatment to bring this up β reach out to your care team as soon as possible. You're so close to finishing, and making sure your team has the full picture right now is really important. You've got this! πͺ
