I am exhausted, in pain, I could barely walk lately because I am always so tired. When does it get better? What else do you recommend for burns? Using aloe (the plant), aquaphor, and some ointment that my radiologist prescribed.

Members rallied around a question about managing painful radiation burns and exhaustion, sharing a wide range of soothing products including Aquaphor, calendula cream, Aveeno healing lotion, Radiaplex, and Miaderm, while reminding each other to only use products approved by their care team. Several members with personal radiation experience described the fatigue as something that peaks weeks after treatment ends and slowly improves over several months, encouraging rest and listening to your body. A recurring theme was the importance of closely communicating with your radiation oncologist, especially for severe burns, and advocating for yourself when pain feels unmanageable.

Sorry, but that is something not to be attempted at all with this severe breast radiation burn.

Specialized lotions and other medical supplies only approved by the radiation oncologist is the way to go.

I used Miaderm for weeks even after it healed. So awful; so sorry. Group advice good. Shower warm; never spray directly on breast.Keep it DRY DRY. I stood under ceiling fan often, lift arms, lift saggy breast. I was allergic to silver oxide ointment, made it worse. Cleansed with onco nurse directed solution. Check with radiology nurse. Are you allergic to sulfate, sulfur?

Suzette, I would look into a different doctor asap. I am not a doctor but that is Not Right. I would listen to the ladies above and go to er if gets worse and definitely get a different Doctor !!!! My Heart and Prayers are with you. Also find a Naturopath a EXCELLENT one and have them give suggestions, it does Not hurt to check in with Conventional and Wellness for this burn. My heart goes out to you πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
