Another AI is Exemastane and it needs to be taken with a full stomach bc food aids in its’ absorption up to 40%!!!! No one told me this but I found out the information doing some researching on all the AIs. So since I do not eat breakfast regularly I switch it to evening as I always eat dinner. I’m not finding any difference in side effects. Just an fyi and another reminder to research every little thing you are doing or taking.
Best wishes!!
I take mine before bed was told that by my dr cause I take BP meds in the morning.
Hi NaR! 😊
I take astronozole and I take mine in the morning. I was experiencing insomnia when I took it at night, but I'm not seeing any difference taking it in the morning either. (Ugh!)
I'm also having terrible hot flashes. I see my dr tomorrow for a checkup, 1st one since beginning the medication.
Have you experienced any side effects, if you're taking a hormone inhibitor? Do you have a preference of what time of day?
Take care! 🩷 Kim
@A MyBCTeam Member Thank you for sharing! I’m going to try before bed first!
Hi NaR, I have been taking Anastrozole for 3 years and initially had wicked hot flashes and headaches but my body has adjusted to it and I no longer get headaches or severe hot flashes. I do still get hot flashes when I’m stressed or rushing around.
I have always taken it at Bedtime because that’s when my primary care Dr suggested I take my anti hypertension medication because he said your liver metabolizes medication better overnight.
Not sure if that’s true but I have always taken meds at bedtime.
Try taking it at bedtime and if it doesn’t work take it in the AM!
Best of Luck! 💕💕💕
