Sometimes they schedule the appt without telling you, and sometimes the follow-up just doesn’t get scheduled for whatever reason. Call the office and ask to schedule a follow-up. It’s usually not a big deal. 💙🫂
My first year after treatment, I had to check in with the oncologist (or his NP- they alternated visits) every 3 months. At year 2, it went to twice a year, and then for year 3,4,5 it was once a year and then released from care.

Connie214, listen to the advice from the ladies here. Call your oncologist’s office and find out when you can see him again. My oncologist sees me every six months and recently switched my medication from Anastrozole to Exemestane. I’ve been dealing with bone pain and constant hot flashes, so I shared how I was feeling. He mentioned that many women have had better results with Exemestane, so I’m going to give it a try and see if it helps. My breast is still dense, and he showed me how to massage it. This is exactly why it’s important to see your oncologist—when you have questions or concerns, they have the answers.
I am coming up on my 1 year “anniversary “ and I have seen my oncologist every 3 months. On our visit last week she decided we can do every 4 months now unless something comes up. I have my yearly scan on July 7th and hope all goes well! I went right from surgery to an AI and chose to skip chemo…. I’m doing well!
