I’m not sure when you asked this question, so you may have already had a lumpectomy. For my first lumpectomy (I’ve had two in one month due to not getting clear margins), recovery was hard. I took OTC pain meds for nearly three weeks.
My second lumpectomy was a little easier (about 3 weeks after my first lumpectomy).
I assume there are a lot of variables like pain tolerance, location on breast, whether someone has to have two or one incisions for a sentinel lymph node biopsy, etc.
I had a sentinel lymph node removal incision as well as the tumor incision on the top of my left breast to heal from.
My surgeon told me overuse/overdoing it could be a big reason why I was still in pain, but I must have also had some fluid build up because my pathology report from my second lumpectomy said a seroma was removed during my second surgery.
All this to say some people take longer than a few days to bounce back after surgery.
What can you expect after a lumpectomy? Recovery looks different for everyone, but here's a general idea of what's ahead.
