I have a tissue expander placed in my left side about 5 months ago after a unilateral mastectomy.I have had my last fill and waiting for surgery. It is still very uncomfortable and hurts when I've been active walking or gardening.
I've had multiple expanders and they are by far the most uncomfortable implant, saline implants are not too bad, and silicone gel are the most comfortable. You will notice a major positive difference after the expander is gone. The expanders, as you know, feel very stiff. Every time they add more saline your skin is stretching and if you have the expander installed under the muscle (most women do) then your muscle is being stretched too. I have had all my implants placed over the muscle for this reason. Most plastic surgeons argue against it, but it makes a huge difference comfort wise. Good luck with your exchange surgery, hopefully it's coming up very soon ❤️
BB2 hi, sorry you are having this pain issue and you should talk with your doctor about this pain that you are having. I hope that you feel better soon.
