I just got back and I have a ton of information and a Nurse Navigator. All of the staff made me feel safe. I really like my surgeon.

Maggie that’s great, I felt the same way after meeting with my surgeon. And the advice is right about the nurse navigator, call them with any questions. I even called mine in January and my surgery was in December of 2024. Keep that number 😘🙏.

* Has it spread to other parts of my body?
* What's my prognosis?
About Treatment:
* What treatment options do I have?
* What are the benefits and risks of each option, including side effects?
* Should I consider joining a clinical trial?
* What comes next in my treatment journey?
Practical Questions:
* Where can I find more information about my diagnosis or treatment options?
* Are there support services or resources available for me?
* What would you do if this were your wife or mother?
A MyBCTeam member shared helpful advice: "Take some time before the appointment to center yourself and make a list of the questions you have for the doctor. Write them out in an order that makes sense to you, and leave space on the page for writing down the answers."
Consider bringing someone with you for support and to help take notes. Don't hesitate to ask for clarification if anything doesn't make sense. You can also ask if it's okay to record the conversation on your phone so you can review it later.
