What is Non-Chemo Infusion, what exactly are the chemicals they use for this type of infusion?
Cynthia, look at your online patient portal (ours is called MyChart) and see if the drugs are listed- different drugs have different purposes and side effects. My chemo included a non-chemo drug, and once the 6 chemo sessions were done, we continued on with the non-chemo targeted drug (Herceptin). Rather than destroying cancer cells, this drug was used to block the signals to make more of the HER2+ receptors. Wishing you all the best as you move into the next phase of your protocols! Hugs!
The Bionic is who I was thinking about when it comes to thinking about all the procedures I have been through in my life. So and I just accept them or I reject a procedure when I think it will not help me or it may do more harm then helping me with my health.
Remember the Bionic Woman? Seemed to work for her! lol!
Good question! My best friend is currently undergoing a form of non- chemo infusion called immunotherapy; where the body’s own immune system identifies and attack cancer cells in.your body.
Typically these medications are given intravenously, in a series of sessions, to help the immune system better recognize and attack cancer cells. One of the meds she is on is herceptin.
@A MyBCTeam Member thank you, but this infusion is for my thyroid and I think that I am not going to do it since my body does not absorbed vitamin D very well and I have other surgeries coming up.
Before that I will be meeting with the plastic doctor for a day and time for the surgery for the right breast to tuck it so it is even with the left breast implant size.
I have an avascular necrosis of the left hip meaning my left hip has been collapsing and now it is collapsed so I have to have a future surgery for the hip to replace it.
And so I am becoming slowly the woman made with implant, both eye lens replacement and future hip replacement that is made of metal, 😂.
