I live in Virginia! Don't we have a beautiful state bird? Hugs!

My Mami used to love cardinals. I see quite a few in my back yard and I say it is Mami making sure that I am fine.

Yes, the Northern Cardinal is the most popular state bird- being claimed by 7 states!! They are usually (along with the morning dove) the last visitors of each day here! Kinda feels like the check in early and at night- who knows, maybe that's why people say When a cardinal appears, a departed loved one is near! Comforting thought- though I guess they get to keep some attitude in the great beyond- ours will hop right over to the sliding glass door to give me the side eye with cocked head when I haven't put food out on the "buffet table". lol!

Sorry about Mr. Tails flying adventure! Glad he was ok! Remind him he needs a cape (and handler!) to pull that stunt off safely! Hugs!

My MIL called them red birds, too! And everyone knows exactly what bird they are talking about! Yes, my feeders are stocked, too! I did take several down this summer, as I spotted some finches with the bird version of pink-eye! So, throwing feed on the ground made sure they were not in close contact with each other. I haven't seen any for the past few weeks with that issue, so everything that had been washed and bleached are back up! Now, they just have to get used to all the feeders again! (won't take them long-lol!)
