I keep getting really bad debilitating migraines as well as hearing my heart beat in my right ear. I had a CT scan 4 weeks ago. And everything was fine. I’m not sure if maybe this is hormone related as chemo put me into early menopause. I finished chemo 3 months ago. It’s just scary. 😱
I had bubbling in my ears, jaw. It was the weirdest thing ever. Luckily for me it didn’t last very long. It was several months after chemotherapy ended.
Leesa, my chemo cocktail included the drug Carboplatin, and platin drugs can cause tinnitus. Mine sounds like cicadas 24/7, with sometimes, a screaming soloist- the tone goes high and then fades off. Then sometimes there is the pulsatile component added- though I am not sure if I can blame the platin drug for that one, as I also have some hypertension. Since the tinnitus with Carboplatin is due to nerve damage it is now part of my new normal. In order to get restful sleep- since this is a constant sound!- I use a noise machine to help the sounds blend into a boring background noise. I haven't experience migraines, but have had random fluttering sounds in my right ear since about the third chemo (Taxotere & Carboplatin). It's annoying for sure but not constant. Hopefully your issues subside!! Hugs to you
It's understandable to feel scared by these symptoms. After completing chemotherapy, various side effects can persist for months as your body adjusts.
