Thank you for your explanation about arterial calcification.
Everyone diagnosed with BC should immediately request a vitamin D blood test to know if their levels are low and start both Vitamin D and vitamin K.
Do not let your doctor stonewall you or fluff you off with this issue.
Ask you Internist or PCP.
So many women with BC have low levels of vitamin D. Vitamin D helps protect against BC and has many other health benefits.
Do not take less than 3,000 IU of vitamin D as lower levels will not raise your Vitamin D. 3,000 mg is safe. Confirm with Doctor.
Take a magnesium capsule at a different time as it is needed with D and K but do not take it at the same time. I take magnesium gluconate at bedtime. It helps one to sleep. Clear the vitamin D and K and magnesium with your doctor.
I take Vitamin D3 10,000IU Daily take with K2 100mcg/day. Be sure to take K2 with vitamin D3. This partnership is crucial because taking vitamin D3 alone can increase calcium absorption but may lead to improper calcium distribution if K2 is lacking, potentially increasing the risk of arterial calcification ❤️
@A MyBCTeam Member, I think you meant 3000 IU, not mg above.

Hi @A MyBCTeam Member
I read that you should take the Vitamin D and K together with a meal that contains some fat. So, I take these at the end of lunch. Plus, you want to take these when you are taking calcium in food.
I take the magnesium at bedtime.
I think this idea would work with supper too but the exact time span apart was not mentioned.
I am the Sherlock Holmes of odd facts that help BC survivors.
I now also have a degree in Sherlock science! lol….
Before starting any vitamin D supplementation, it's essential to have your current vitamin D levels checked through a simple blood test during a regular physical. Your healthcare provider can then recommend the appropriate dosage based on your specific levels and needs. While vitamin D may help control normal breast tissue Show Full Answer
