My radiation will not begin until 4 weeks after current Chemotherapy sessions (Nov) which started 6 weeks after surgery. They would like your body to heal and rest awhile between treatments. ❤️

I don't know the answer but I would think healing from surgery first would be a good thing. Have you started anything in the line of medications or chemo?

Mine was 6 weeks. You must be completely healed from surgery.

Haven't had my surgery yet, but rad onc said rad could begin as soon as two weeks after surgery if incision site has closed.

My radiation team would not start the Radiation treatments until the surgical site was healed. If you are not healed you run a higher risk for complications. You can end up with seromas (build up of fluid- a pocket of fluid in the surgical location), infection and dehiscence (opening up of the incision site), etc.
Totally agree with the others who have stated that you need to let your body hear and rest to be ready to deal well with radiation.
Typically, the Medical Oncologist will be the "Point Person" or Lead of the care of the Radiation Oncologist, Surgeon, Primary Care Provider, and Medical Oncologist and will coordinate care of all. That being said it is ALWAYS important to verbally VERIFY that is TRUE.
