If you don't eat well then I would suggest the protein drinks that other women mentioned. There may not be too much you can do until you are done treatment but it will be done eventually and you will feel better again. Just keep reminding yourself of that, that this is not forever.
One thing to keep in mind when going through this, there will be an end when these treatments are over and you begin to heal. When women are going through chemo and/or radiation they should mentally prepare that its going to be a tough year. 1 difficult year fighting this beast and then you start to heal and work on getting your health and regular life back. Just a year and these treatments are behind you. ❤️
You'll have to let us know how your Huckleberry project turns out!! Hugs!
Judi, the tiredness is horrible but it's part of the journey. Drink a ton of water, walk a bit, rest, rest and rest some more. Try to keep a journal and write down when you're getting tired, the intensity and duration. Take that with you to the next doctor's appointment. In the meantime, if the tiredness gets worse call your doctor and let him know what going on because he might have meds or suggestions to help. Do what you can when you can and rest when you need to. Try to increase your protein intake and maybe even drink some good protein drinks. Wishing you the very best. Much love and endless hugs. Stay in touch!
I have been exercising on the days when I can. It really helps, even though I have to push myself. I have learned to pace myself, to stop while doing errands and scan my body and energy to see if I can continue. If not, I go home. Tomorrow is another day. When I push myself, I lose several days to fatigue, whereas if I stop, I only lose part of a day. Acupuncture has been a game changer for me. At first, I didn't think it was working but about week 4 I began to sleep better and joint pain, brain fog began tapering off. I make smoothies when I am too tired to cook. Powdered protein, banana, blueberries or other frozen fruit, plant-based milk. I add part of an avocado and/or spinach, as well. I've never been able to taste the last two, but they add nutrition. Good luck with your journey. We are all different, so it takes some trial and error but you will figure it out.
