ooooooooooh and another idea i had that may help is that I wore my Hubby's t-shirts as mine hit my lymph node area...and it was soooooo uncomfortable...but with his shirt.... the stitching was in a better place.

I have the same experience as Janet the surgical bra they put me into was pretty uncomfortable. I only wore it for two days and nights and then I switched to a sports bra that I could sleep in at night. The best sports bra I found that zips in the front to make it easy was at Dick‘s sporting goods.

After the first lumpectomy I had a bandage and could wear my regular sports bra. I was driving and going out the next day, After my mastectomy with Direct Implants, I was in a surgical compression bra for a week then sports bras for 24/7 for a month.

mine was priceless...it really helped me a lot for the 1st 2-3 weeks...When I took it off, I couldn't wait to put it back on...

They put a surgical bra on me after surgery, but it was very uncomfortable. I wore it until I took my first shower, then I found a package of two cotton, front-closure bras (Hanes) at Walmart that I wore until I saw the surgeon for my two-week follow-up. I was told to sleep in the bra for those two-weeks and the surgical bra just didn't cut it. After a week I was healed enough to not need to sleep in one any longer. After that I just went back to my regular bras.

I received two pillows from one of the support groups, but really didn't need them. They are nice if you sleep on your side or to put under the seat belt in the car. If you don't have one, you can make them easily. Or maybe have a friend who sews who could make you one or two.
