I am her2 positive stage A1 and had a lumpectomy in 2022. I have Ben taking Arimidex for nearly 2 yrs and I cannot take the profuse sweating , Hot flashes , mood swings and a list of other things anymore . I had to stop herceptin and perjeta because it gave me heart troubles (regurgitating blood flow to.heart)
I want to stop but don’t want the BC to return! Any thoughts or ideas. Anyone have the same issue. Thank You
I had Her2-positive but not hormone-pos cancer. Since you had to stop H+P, I would at least try to continue on some form of hormone blocker. This cancer is aggressive, you need to realize that, so removing any kind of preventative measure seems a bit dangerous to me. Why not ask your onco to try another AI? From what I’ve read here from women, there are more options than Arimidex. Just keep in mind that Her2-pos cancer’s peak recurrence is around 2-3 years, so this is not the time to stop your treatment, especially since you didn’t get the full course of H+P. So sorry you have to deal with this. I know it just sucks. Also, @A MyBCTeam Member is working with a naturopath on natural hormone blockers, but I don’t know how effective these are, especially when you’re also dealing with Her2-pos on top of that.
