I understand your concerns about the dye from the scans. I think as long as you flush your system out with water, it’s okay. I get CT scans with dye contrast , a total body bone scan with dye contrast and also an echocardiogram with dye every 4 months.
@A MyBCTeam Member - Good morning, my friend 😊 I go through periods of having to have many scans with contrast dye & I was also concerned. When I asked about it, I was told the amount of dye they use is very small and the information they can obtain is very helpful in determining treatment options plus vital information regarding the patient’s status. It’s a harm versus benefit thing. I thought about it and I completely agree. What I think makes a huge difference is continually drinking water to flush it through your system as fast as you can. I drink a 33 oz of smart water as I’m sitting waiting for the dye to circulate in my system & I drink another 33 oz after I’m done. I constantly have to go to the bathroom but it’s worth it to not have it linger in your kidneys 👍🏼😊 sending you big hugs 🤗 ❤️
Will be ok as long as providers are aware of kidney function status.
Drink plenty of water to flush it out every time and you’ll be fine. I’m going by what’s told to me every time.
