My chemo buddy just told me about this site. She was very happy with the wig she got from them. I just submitted my info today. You just answer a few questions, upload a letter from your Dr and send them a few pics of you before the hair loss.

Hi Melanie, before I started chemo, I knew that my cocktail would cause my hair to leave on vacation. I started by watching YT videos by a company called Godiva's Secret- it made me feel a bit more informed about choosing a wig. I stopped by the center (associated with our cancer center) and made an appt to get my hair cut in a short style and try on wigs. I asked what brands they carried, so I could look at them online. I went home and looked through and saw four I thought I might like. I called the center, and they had all four in stock- not in my color, but I just wanted to see how they felt and looked. The first one, did not have the lace front- so it was out. The second one- looked so silly on me, it was a no. The third and fourth were definite contenders. And once I found out that even though it was a synthetic wig- they could still trim the bangs back a bit, and thin the back, I had my answer. The wig came in a few days later, and they did the trim and thin, and adjusted it to my size, and reminded me to come back when I either wanted my hair buzzed, or lost the hair, so they could adjust again. My wig, stand, brush, shampoo- all together came in just under $200 (they did give me a discount, and this was 2019). Since the oncologist gave me an Rx for a "cranial prosthetic" insurance covered it.
Ask your oncologist about the Rx and wig shops that work with cancer patients. Once my treatment was done, and I had a clear mammo, I donated my wig back to the center. They have wigs there that they will pass on to patients without insurance, etc.
