I wouldn’t have nails without using a nail polish that’s also a hardener. Thinning hair—I had to get a “pet” attachment for my vacuum cleaner—it thinks I am a Golden Retriever!

Beth, I did my chemo during the winter months, between the harsh meds, the cold weather, and dry house, my hands were really dry and hurting. I found a few things that would help. Bag Balm, Udder Butter- or my fav- organic coconut oil. I would put a blob in my hands, and the warmth of my hands would melt it. Then, just work it into your skin, especially around the cuticles, knuckles, etc. Then- and this is the secret weapon- put on the cotton gloves! It helps keep the oil off your clothes, etc. but also help it stay where it's needed. Try it at bedtime, and I bet your hands will feel so much better in the morning!
I got mine from Amazon, and they are washable, but you can find in Walmart, etc. Look for:
White Cotton Gloves for Dry Hands Eczema, SPA, Moisturizing

Splitting cuticles can be a common issue during breast cancer treatment due to the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and other therapies. Here are some tips to manage and protect your cuticles:

- Use Cuticle Cream: Keep your cuticles soft by regularly applying cuticle cream.
- Avoid Cutting Cuticles: Instead of cutting, use cuticle removers to gently push them back.
- Moisturize: Apply a mild moisturizer on damp skin to keep it soft and moist.
- Wear Gloves: Protect your hands while doing household chores to prevent further damage.

If you notice any severe changes or infections, it's important to speak with your healthcare team.

Toenails grow so slow- I was thrilled when the fingernails finally grew out, even though they were still fragile, they at least had a normal color. It's gotten better though I don't think they are as strong as before- and that was before taking any hair and nails supplements.
I lost both big toes, and then when I thought they were making a teeny bit of progress, I lost one again!! The left, which I only lost once, now looks almost normal- the top half is still a shade or two darker, but you really have to be looking at it to notice, so hopefully as it finishes growing out, that one will be back to normal. The right one, which I lost twice, still looks bad, the shape, color, texture- are still off, but the bottom edge looks a little better- so even though it's been a few years, I haven't given up hope yet.
