My Chemo twere Taxitere and Carboplatin. I also took Herceptin. The side effects/symptoms can be different after each round, but fatigue is always common. I also experienced achiness and overall felt awful! I may began to feel bad between days 3-5 after chemo. I had no appetite and everything had an odd taste including water. I encourage anyone to stay hydrated to help push the 'poison' out of your body. I later experienced low blood counts and neuropathy issues. My fingernails were affected which I hadn't realized was common during chemo.

I also iced my hands and feet every time I took Taxol to avoid neuropathy. They have ice sheets and sets with booties for your hands and feet on Amazon. I stopped taking Taxol and carboplatin after my first 12 weeks of chemo and am now on a new 12 week plan with the red devil chemo and two other drugs.

The main symptoms I had were bone pain, constipation and tiredness. Good luck with your treatment. 🫶🏻 You can do it!

Chemo can cause neuropathy of the hands and feet. Every time I got my taxol they would put my hands and feet in bags of ice for the duration of the infusion. It is suppose to help with that. I also have a lot of neuropathy in both my hands and feet. Had last dose of taxol first part of November and they said it will go away gradually. Not in my case I still have it really bad and I take lyrica for the pain. I also am type 2 diabetic so that doesn’t help the situation. Check with your doctor about ice therapy and lyrica it gabapentin for the pain.

Thanks. I’m just trying to stay busy and occupied. I’m on a weekly schedule. I’m having numbness in my hands and constipation. Trying to manage the symptoms one by one.

For me, sleepiness! I think it was a lot of stress leading up to the first one, and a lot of relief once it was done! Mine was on a three week schedule, after the second one, my scalp started to feel like a sunburn, and the hair left on vacation shortly after that. Fortunately, the side effects don't hit all at once- so definitely, the adage of one day at a time, applies! Reach out whenever something is challenging- the pink sisters here will share any tips and tricks for getting through! Hugs!
