Doctor will be switching treatment from Keytruda and AC every 21 days, to Keytruda and taxol and carboplatin weekly. The first 2 treatments were very harsh on me. I'm really praying this will be much easier. However , I am apprehensive and disappointed that I have to go every week supposedly for 6 weeks. 😒☹️
👋🏾Greetings Brenda328!! Thank You for responding, as well as your kind words. No surgery...just the two rounds of chemo in the last two months. Next chemo appointment is next week.
I pray that all goes Great and Successful for you!!💜💜💜
I had all those you mentioned, weekly for 12 weeks. My treatment days were Mondays and Tuesday through Friday I went to back to get a Zarxio shot to help build up my white blood cells.
It was tiring but not as harsh as AC. It took me about 4.5 weeks after I finished the 12 treatments to start to feel like I didn’t just have chemo. So please be patient with yourself and rest as you need to.
Have you had surgery yet? I had a lumpectomy on Sept 2 and it was by far the easiest part of my treatments. I’m currently receiving radiation and it’s not too bad, so far. I’ve had 7/30 treatments.
Carbo wasn’t part of the regimen when I was diagnosed with TNBC, so I did not have it (you get a better treatment than I had, Keytruda wasn’t being used then either). Taxol was sooooooo much better than AC! If you got through AC, you should do fine.
