It might also just be caused by stress related to upcoming radiation treatments.
I have been on 3 AIs. Xeloda, Anastrozole and am now on Exemestane. I think they ALL cause some sort of weight gain and mood disorders. I truly don't know if one is any better than the other as they basically do the same thing. I'm tired all the time, moody and am definitely gaining weight, Not a ton of weight, just enough to feel it..................I don't like it, but not much to be done about it. I definitely don't want the cancer to return!
I find that certain foods seem to make me bloat for example pasta and milk. I never had that problem prior to chemotherapy. I was thinking of asking my GP to send me for food allergy testing. Trying a gluten free diet might not be a bad idea if it is not too complicated. I am such a no fuss kind of girl. Maybe, I have to start getting fussier though when it comes to my health.
I agree that the side effects so far are mild compared to the thought of reoccurrence. My stomach feels bloated. Maybe I will try to incorporate more exercise especially when my radiation treatments are over.
I have been taking Anastrozole for about 9 years I didn’t experience weight gain I had other sides effects but nothing that like I experienced with the first medication I was on.
I have been on anastrozole for two months and I feel like my stomach is always distended and I constantly crave sugar. I've gained four pounds. I didn't need to gain any weight. I'm already overweight. But if that's the main side effect for me, I'll take it.
