Beth-I just went for my radiation consultation and I will have radiation for 3 weeks 5 days a week. My doc said the side effects would be feeling like a sun burn with may be peeling skin (this will be treated with creams and lotions) being tired (varies on person). Breast may turn brown in color. Radiation effects will continue a couple weeks after treatment. I go for mine treatment around March 12th 2024.

I had 19 days of radiation- I felt fine until a bit past the halfway mark. My skin was a little sore, so I put moisturizer on & steroid cream. The end of the week before my last week I experienced extreme exhaustion which continued for a couple of weeks after I finished radiation.
Finally one day I felt like me again.

I will be starting radiation soon and that's very reassuring to hear.

I had radiation almost 5 weeks everyday it was a breeze. Half way threw area around breast gets red and inflammed but the drs will give you cream to use. Couple weeks later you’ll be fine!!!

Wishing you good luck as you start treatment. It sounds like we are starting around the same time.
