If you any doubt in the plan presented, I think a second opinion is a great idea. This is a very scary journey to be on. It is harder if you don’t believe in it.
I did not get a second opinion on the medical oncology part, TNBC chemo is standard of care. I struggled big time on my surgical options. My surgeon encouraged me to do sone research, but in the end, she would do what I wanted. My second opinion said the same thing. I gave me more confidence in my surgeon.

Darlene406 how are things going? So after the initial shock, I am glad you are considering a second opinion. My answer is absolutely! I wish I would have. I did change my breast cancer doctor/surgeon. She misdiagnosed me. Prayers sent for the best decision. You will be fine. Blessings sent🙏🏻🥰❤️

My ob/gyn recommended 2nd opinion so I scheduled with MSK but cancelled.
I asked my radiologist, my breast surgeon & a close friend who’s in medical field for their opinions.
My diagnosis was in the early stages so the procedure was pretty standard plus the commute to appointments, tests, and surgeries would’ve been horrendous - thank goodness they mentioned that!!
I’m comfortable with my team - think I got really lucky, especially with my surgeons.
If I went with MSK, I think I would’ve been 10 times worse!!
But it all depends on how comfortable you are with your team!
