It has been 3 1/2 months since surgery, got my script and called Medicare to see who accepted assignment. I went to the one closes. Medicare pays for 3 bras every six months with double mastectomy and an inserts every two years. I went with comfortable every day ones in the basic colors.

I’m 2 months after my surgery but I still wear surgical bra & extra pad (ABD pads) to protect my breasts - night and day. Scared to take off..

If you want a bra that fits correctly, you should consult someone who works with mastectomy products ! You can also get a catalog of mastectomy bra's in the mail but I recommend being measured by a professional first

I know how you feel. I had to do that during last week of radiation because I was red and peeling. I just stayed inside.

I have always been rather flat so I just go braless and my family and friends are comfortable with that ! I did have some mastectomy bra's and a prosthesis but I gave them to our states Breast cancer organization !
