I had fat grafting two times. They used my abdomen. I had the second grafting on a Monday and went back to work(office type) on Friday. It was tender but I did ok. The results were fair. I only had it on my tumor side (bilateral Mx) because I had a total of three surgeries on that side ( original mastectomy surgery, positive margin and hematoma). After the positive margin, I told my surgeon to take everything possible out. I didn’t want to risk it. So, I needed fat grafting to make up for the deficit compared to the other side. Some fat took and it was an improvement but not the same as the other side esthetically. I can live with it though. I’m on the thin side too - 5’6” and 133 lbs. good luck in your decision

I’m not worried about a second opinion. I know people who are more slender have harder time with having enough fat from one place? I’m just curious how that will affect recovery and a certain donor sites hurt more?

Have you considered getting a second opinion as well? Even if both surgeons agree on what is possible and would get you the outcomes you are looking for, you may find you click better with one than the other.
